Blind Side

At the moment, I am sitting in the class with the module "Leading the change." I am learning and contemplating the things happened lately.  

 I love being a teacher. Being a teacher teaches me many things. Being a teacher is a privilege to touch others' lives. As others' lives touch my life, I change and grow up. 

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. - Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)

Believe or not, sometimes students that you have got are mostly the same type with you. As a result, teacher-students relationship is sharpening one another. Sometimes, the weaknesses of your students are your weaknesses too. But somehow, by solving your students' problems and weaknesses, you solve your own problems and weaknesses. 

But...... all this are easier to talk than to do. Each of us has a blind side that we cannot see. We sometimes haven't realized it until some things comes up. However, as long as we have the humility to admit our mistakes and fix them, I believe  there is always a way for every problem in our life. Whenever I can solve my problems, I will get a new lesson and become wiser ( I hope so ! :) )

 Therefore, I believe we need a coach to help us overcome our weaknesses and put us in the best performance. Also, we need best friends who can accept us the way we are and help us to do the best. Luckily, I have one. She's been my best friend since 2002. Our friendship is not just a smooth road, but sometimes we need to overcome jealousy, hatred, and misunderstanding between us. However, the true friend shows me my weaknesses and helps me to do my best the way I am.

Mind consists of words, Words define a man. Words can be a weapon, to warm the cold soul or to destroy hope. Words can build a man, But it can also break a heart. Words can fill a hole, But also it can create a gap. The letters are only twenty-six, Yet its power is beyond the measure. Sometimes the words can be kind,  But some words drive people to the edge of their lives (Lan-2020) Words...words... words... ! In the digital era, the words are posted everyday in instagram posting, whatsapp chat, or facebook status and other social media. Some are positive, some are negative. Some words are telling truth, some words spread lies. Some words lift up souls, some words destroy hope. Words are sharper than words in this era. Words have power to kill people. Social media bullying is real. It has even taken the lives of others. I have read many comments that were tried hurting others on the social media platform. The Double Beauty Standard

She told me that a friend of her asked her to do a plastic surgery because her friend thought my friend’s jawbone is too high. Furthermore, even the friend has insulted her that she would never be beautiful though she has a plastic surgery. Honestly, I saw nothing wrong with my friend’s appearance. She is beautiful the way she is. She is attractive the way she is. I think the one who has criticized my friend’s appearance is the one who is not comfortable the way she looks herself. My friend and I were graduated from Faculty of Letters. As students of Faculty of Letters, Shakespeare’s sonnet was a part of the curriculum. I remember I had a final exam on Shakespeare’s sonnet, the sonnet 130.
